PDF Scanner is a document productivity app published by EasyLearn. The app provides tools for scanning, editing, signing, organizing, protecting, and converting PDF documents, as well as QR and barcode features.

Some features operate entirely on your device. Other features, especially selected document conversion flows, require online processing through our backend and service providers.

2. Information We May Process

2.1 Files and content you choose

When you use scan, import, edit, OCR, signing, watermark, or conversion features, the app may process documents, images, text, signatures, filenames, QR or barcode data, and related metadata that you choose to handle inside the app.

2.2 Account and usage identifiers

For some online features, the app may create or use a Firebase anonymous account identifier so requests can be authenticated, feature limits can be enforced, and conversion history or entitlements can be associated with the same app user.

2.3 Device, diagnostics, and app information

We may process device or app information such as app version, operating system information, crash diagnostics, feature state, and technical logs to keep the app working, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.

2.4 Notification data

If you enable notifications, the app may process a push token or topic subscription data tied to your selected app language so we can deliver feature updates or reminders.

2.5 Purchase and subscription information

If you buy digital features through Google Play, billing and payment data is generally handled by Google Play. We may receive status information needed to verify entitlements, renewals, or subscription state.

3. Local Processing and Cloud Processing

Many scan, view, organize, and PDF editing functions are designed to work locally on your device.

When you use supported file conversion features, your selected file and related metadata may be uploaded to our Firebase-based backend and processed by our document conversion provider CloudConvert so the requested output can be generated and returned to you.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

• provide document scanning, editing, storage, export, OCR, and conversion features;
• authenticate requests and protect the service from misuse or abuse;
• enforce free-tier limits, reward-based access, or Premium entitlements;
• deliver requested notifications and language-based messaging topics;
• monitor app health, debug failures, and improve reliability and performance;
• show or manage ads in the free experience; and
• respond to support requests and legal obligations.

5. Service Providers and Third Parties

Depending on the feature you use, we may rely on third-party services such as:

• Google Play for app distribution, billing, and subscriptions;
• Firebase services for app infrastructure, authentication, Firestore, remote configuration, cloud functions, messaging, and crash reporting;
• CloudConvert for selected document conversion operations;
• Google Mobile Ads for ad-supported experiences; and
• AppMetrica for app analytics and product insights.

These providers may process information under their own privacy terms and security practices.

6. Ads and Analytics

The free version of the app may display advertising. Ad providers may use device or other identifiers, app information, and interaction data subject to their own policies and applicable platform settings.

We may also use analytics or diagnostic services to understand app usage patterns, detect crashes, and improve feature quality.

7. Retention

Files you scan or create locally generally stay on your device until you delete, move, export, or otherwise manage them.

For online conversion features, job records, counters, temporary result links, and related technical data may be retained for as long as needed to operate the service, enforce limits, investigate failures, or comply with legal duties, and may then be deleted or allowed to expire.

8. Your Choices

• You can choose which files and content to scan, import, convert, or share.
• You can deny permissions such as camera or notifications, although some features may stop working correctly.
• You can uninstall the app and delete locally stored content from your device.
• You can manage subscriptions and many billing settings through Google Play.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security for data stored on your device, transmitted over networks, or processed by third-party providers.

10. Children

PDF Scanner is not directed to children for independent legal or commercial document handling. If you believe a child provided personal information in a way that requires action, contact us.

11. International Processing

Depending on the infrastructure or provider involved, information may be processed in countries outside your own. By using cloud-based features, you understand that cross-border processing may occur where permitted by law.
